A Double Helical Gear consists of two identical helical gear teeth sets arranged symmetrically with opposite helix angles. This design creates a V-shaped tooth pattern, resembling two mirrored helical gears joined together.
The axial (thrust) forces generated by each helix cancel each other out within the gearbox, eliminating net axial load on the bearings.
